Tuesday is PSAT Test Day for all 10th, all 11th, and some 9th graders (those who signed up). ALL students attend school on Tuesday. There will be NO ZERO HOUR on Tuesday. Arrive at school anytime after 8:00, and go to your test room by 8:50. All students will be able to see their room assignment (testing or not testing) in RTI Scheduler by Monday. Non-testing 9th graders will have assignments and counselor visits. Non-testing 12th graders will be introduced to WorkKeys--more info to come. IGNITE students come to West all day Tuesday. Finally- if you are testing and have a good calculator at home, please bring it with you to the test. This will help us ensure everyone gets a calculator on test day. Thank you!

For any student that would like some additional practice or support in Math for the upcoming PSAT on Tuesday, October 26th, sign up for Mr. Jeffrey's "PSAT Math Prep" Flex sessions on Friday, October 22nd. There will be 2 separate Flex sessions offered, Flex 6.5 and Flex 6.6, in which problems from PSAT Practice Tests will be reviewed. This will be a great opportunity to ensure you are ready for success on the PSAT.
Do you have a favorite book? Would you like to win a prize for telling others about it? The Northwest Arkansas Educational Servicing Center Co-Op is sponsoring a contest for students to share a short, 1 minute video about a book that has had an impact on the reader for its theme(s), entertainment, and/or personal connection to some aspect of the book. Students are encouraged to give a short synopsis of the book and share why it's a favorite.
Prizes include $25 Barnes and Noble gift cards for the regional winners in every grade 6-12, as well as a $50 Amazon gift card each for the overall regional high school winner and for the overall middle school winner.
-Students must fill out the "My Fave Book" Video Response form in its entirety.
-Student videos must be no longer than 1 minute in length.
-Student's voice should be clear and loud enough to be heard in playback.
-Students should include the title and author of the book, a short synopsis, and a brief statement as to why the book is considered a favorite.
Video formats may include MP4, MOV, and WMV only.
Students may submit multiple entries. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Evans or Mrs. Thompson in the library. All submissions are due by December 1. Get filming, and good luck!
