ACT Prep Sessions - How to Navigate the ACT Test

BHS will offer multiple ACT prep session during FLEX in the Lecture Hall throughout the school year. September Dates: September 10-English, September 15-Reading, September-17 Math and Science. Learn how to approach the ACT and raise your composite score. Sign up through RTI Scheduler. 


Join French Club!

Bonjour! Want to dive into the vibrant French culture? French Club is hosting its first meeting on September 4th, and everyone is welcome to join. You don’t need to be in a French class or have previous French language experience. Come hang out, make new friends, and enjoy games and activities at every meeting. FCCLA Membership Meeting

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) will hold their first meeting during 6.5 flex on Friday, September 4th. The meeting will be held in the Roar Room. Join us to learn more about FCCLA membership. Additional spots have been opened up so go to RTI to sign up!!


College Visits Coming Up!

College visits are coming to N217 during Flex: Sept. 3—Harding and Hendrix | Sept. 8—Notre Dame | Sept. 10—NYU. Sign up through the RTI Scheduler to attend. More visits are added daily, so check regularly for new opportunities to connect!

Someone parked in my spot! What should I do?

Step 1: Confirm that it is in fact your spot, note the time, and take a picture of the license plate of the car in your spot. Step 2: Go park in visitors.  Step 3: Most important step!! Go into the North Office and fill out the clipboard that someone else parked in your spot, please include the noted time.


Student Check Out Procedures

Parents must call the checkout line at 254-5100 (select option 1) to check out student drivers. All students must come to the North Office to check out. Parents/guardians of 9/10th grade non-driving students must come into the office to check out their student. The office will not call students out of class in advance to wait for parents.


Science & Engineering Fair Meeting

Looking for a way to make some money for college?  Science Fair maybe for you!  Join us this Friday, Sept.4 during 6.6 flex, S. Brock room 253 North.  We will be given information about this years fairs.  Not sure?  Come anyway and see if it is right for you.

9th Grade PSAT - Oct 20

The PSAT will be administered on October 20. 9th graders can choose to take it for $18. Students in grades 10 and 11 are automatically registered for the test and do not need to complete any forms. 9th Grade Registration Form The deadline to register is September 4.

PICTURE DAYS!

9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will be taking pictures Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 3rd in the Arend Arts Center. Students will go during their English classes on these days.

Volunteer Opportunity - Beaver Lake Volunteer Day

Beaver Lake Volunteer Day (Saturday September 26th from 8:00AM-12:00PM) Volunteers will have an option to pick up litter at multiple different sites around Beaver Lake and will then celebrate with lunch, raffle prizes, and vendor booths. This is a family-friendly event and a great way to give back to our community and potentially receive up to 4 volunteer hours!

Math Tutors Needed

If you are skilled in mathematics and would like to tutor students who need assistance, please email Mr. McKean at bmckean@bentonvillek12.org   This service will allow you to earn community service credit as well as provide a noble hand of encouragement to your fellow students.


Community Service Learning Available for Individuals or Groups

Join a Day of Service on September 12. Choose one of 13 different local agencies. The day is hosted by Good Works, the new regional volunteer center at The Jones Center, launched in partnership with Tyson and Walmart.

Order Ahead School Pantry Program

In partnership with the NWA Food Bank, any family in the BPS district can participate in a free monthly supplemental food program. Food orders are placed online and delivered to a BPS school of choice for pick up. CLICK HERE to register. The District revised Policy 4.47 for Possession and Use of Personal Electronic Devices on July 1, 2025, to comply with the Arkansas Bell-to-Bell No Cell statute. The policy has been released to parents in the 7-12 Handbook (see page 44). The procedures for grades 9-12 are linked here.

Bookmark Contest

The library is hosting its 6th annual Bookmark Contest. Stop by the library to pick up an entry form and submit your original design by September 28th. The winning bookmarks will be printed and used as the official library bookmarks for the entire school year! Show off your art and leave your mark—literally.


Election Page Volunteer Information and Application

An Arkansas HS student can have an excused absence for working as an "election page" (AR Code § 7-4-116 (2024). This is a formal program sponsored by a county board of election commissioners. The NEW AR ACCESS Portal will open in October to apply to Arkansas colleges. We will help you register during September. The Common App is now open and helps you apply to over 1,100 schools around the US and the world. October 1: Complete FAFSA and create your AR SAMS account for scholarships.
