Substitute Teaching
Substitute teachers play a very important role in educating our children. Bentonville Public Schools is looking for committed individuals to contribute to our focus on children by substituting in our schools. Please review the following information regarding substitute teaching resources and opportunities.

2010-2011 School Year Substitute Teaching Application and Selection Process:
- Applications need to be submitted through the Online Application (specify Substitute Teacher as desired position). After you have submitted your application online, the Substitute Teacher Coordinator will contact you if additional information is needed or if an interview with you is desired. Please make sure all information is complete and accurate.
- All applicants must have prior experience working with children preferably in a school setting.
- Orientation for hired candidates will be in September.
Daily Rate of Pay:
The daily rate of pay for substitute teachers will be according to the following schedule:

Long-term Rate of Pay:
Long-term rate of pay for a certified position, which will be more than 10 consecutive days.

Long-term rate of pay for a classified position, which will be more than 10 consecutive days is $85. Note: Long-term substitutes are expected to attend building staff meetings. |
Orientation and Training:
All substitute teachers are required to attend the district orientation and training session in order to become activated in the substitute system. The following topics will be covered during the session:
- District policies and procedures
- Substitute teacher expectations
- Training on the automated subfinder system, AESOP
- Technology Training
Noncertified substitute teachers will also be required to complete the Utah State Substitute Training by attending 3 nonpaid half day workshops.
Orientation and training sessions take place through out the school year. Substitute teachers who have been hired will be notified of the place and time.
