Camp of Champs July 11-13 at BHS
Camp of Champs is a youth leadership and personal growth experience open to rising 9th through 12th-grade high school students.

IMPORTANT – Band Booster meeting – IMPORTANT
For band and color guard families - Monday, 5/21/2012 6:30pm in the BHS Band room. A lot of information will be shared regarding the band program for 2012-2013. Food will be provided. Please join us.
The girls soccer team takes on Conway at 2:00 pm Friday at the Univeristy of Arkansas. After you are done with finals come out and cheer them on!
Due to popular demand, the ACT Academy will be offering an afternoon session from 12:00 to 4:00 which will run May 29-June 8--the day before the June 9 ACT. If you are interested, please get your registration and check to Mr. Davis in room 2109.
The deadline for turning in your summer school application to recover a credit is Wednesday, June 13th (the first day of summer school). Please bring applications and payments to Mrs. Power in room 1405 until Tuesday, May 22nd and to the north office after Tuesday.
Baccalaureate will be held Friday, May 18th at 7:00 PM in White Auditorium on the Northwest Arkansas Community College campus. Students should arrive no later than 6:45 PM and should wear their gown, no need for caps.
There is a soccer tournament in Bentonville this weekend and help is needed. If you interested, please contact NWA Lightening at 224-6700.
If a summer school class doesn't make, you will be notified next week and a refund will be mailed to you. Please check the announcements next week for the room number of your class.
Students, as you clean out lockers and backpacks, please use the recycle bins in the hallways for paper.
Information can be found in the summer school packet. Session 1 Tuesday, May 29th– Saturday, June 2nd. Session2 Monday, June 11th – Friday, June 15th. Cost is $225. For questions call Gina Roughton at 696 – 3421.
If you were not able to attend the awards banquet on Tuesday you will receive your awards at graduation practice on Thursday at 9:00 AM in the gym.

Cost is $100.

Thursday, May 17th, and Friday, May 18th, only the south cafeteria will be serving lunch and Monday, May 21st, the south cafeteria will be open but with limited choices. Thank you and have a wonderful, safe summer.

Summer meals (breakfast and lunch) will be served to Mary May Jones Elementary for any child through the age of 18 years old. Summer meals are free to all students regardless of income. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and lunch is from 10:30 - 1:00 May 29 - August 1.
Camp of Champs is a youth leadership and personal growth experience open to rising 9th through 12th-grade high school students. Camp of Champs will use speakers, activities, and discussions to provide youth with the focus and confidence to create a successful future and to positively influence their family, peers, school, and community. Youth will be challenged, empowered, and motivated to step out of their typical societal role and tap the responsibility of the unlimited power that lies within. Questions? Couldn't make the ACT Academy? The ACT Mini-Camps are for you! Both camps meet from 8 a.m. until noon.
The Math/English camp is $70, and runs July 30 to August 3.
The Science/Reading camp is $40, and runs July 6, 7, & 8.
Discount! Pay only $100 if you sign up for both camps. Pick up registration information in the North and South offices and counselors' offices! Deadline is May 21st.
Officer Vera is looking for students to sign up to assist with the Bentonville Police Department Active Shooter training. Role players will be asked to participate in a simulated hostage and rescue scenario. The training will be Friday, June 8th, from 12:00 - 4:00 at Bentonville High School, north building. If you are intersted, Officer Vera will be signing up volunteers starting Monday, May 14th. This will also count as volunteer community hours.
The Summer School Earn Credit deadline has been extended to Friday, May 18th. You can earn a credit in 3D Art, Ceramics I, Civics, Computer Applications (I,II,III), Economics, Keyboarding, Oral Communiations, and PE. Please pick up an application in the North or South offices or see Mrs. Power in room 1405.
Please return your calculator as soon as possible to the eLibrary. Make sure that you will no longer need it for any EOC, finals or AP testing before checking it in.
The UALR School of Mass Communication is hosting an intensive media camp July 8th-14th and will immerse campers in a variety of media production activities.
